EPA Smart Growth Webinar: Transforming the Old North St. Louis Neighborhood

On Tuesday, March 13, join Mayor Francis Slay of St. Louis, MO and Sean Thomas, executive director of the Old North St. Louis Restoration Group to discuss smart growth approaches used to transform a largely abandoned area into a flourishing historic district. Hosted by EPA’s Smart Growth Program, this webinar will focus on the transformation of Old North and lessons learned for other cities seeking to revitalize their communities.

Old North St. Louis is the winner of EPA’s 2011 National Award for Smart Growth Achievement in the Overall Excellence category. The application period for the 2012 National Award for Smart Growth Achievement is open through April 6. Public- and private-sector entities that have successfully used smart growth principles to improve their communities are encouraged to apply. Learn more at http://www.epa.gov/smartgrowth/awards.htm.
