Get Ready for TEDCity2.0 this Friday, September 20

Dream me. Build me. Make me real.

This Friday, September 20, TEDCity2.0 will commence at the TimesCenter in New York City from 9am-5pm ET. Co-curated and co-hosted by Chris Anderson, John Cary, and Courtney Martin, the event will surface stories of urban ingenuity and interdependence from across the globe, and feature an unexpected mix of over 20 speakers, including several 2012 City 2.0 Award winners. Topics will include walkability, housing, public space, public art, safety and transportation.

Live-streamed online for free, the TEDCity2.0 anchor event in New York will coincide with self-organized TEDxCity2.0 events over a 48-hour period. TEDx communities worldwide will envision the cities of our future and share big ideas about collaborative action and sustainable solutions.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will be featured in the first morning session in New York City. He is the only U.S. mayor to participate. Other speakers will include walkability advocate, Jeff Speck, and U.S. Secretary of Housing & Urban Development, Shaun Donovan. Local TEDx simulcast events in the Atlanta area include TEDxPeachtree — the local “anchor” event at Atlanta City Hall — and TEDxGeorgiaTech.
