March 12-13: Greenprints and Reid Ewing

Now in its 17th year, Greenprints is the premier convening of national thought leaders in sustainable design, construction and communities. On March 12-13, over 300 of these leaders will meet to explore issues related to green building, sustainable development and policy in the Southeast. The conference will feature interactive sessions, on-site workshops, and keynotes by Jason McLennan of the International Living Future Institute and Cliff Majersik of the Institute for Market Transformation. Greenprints is co-hosted by the Southface Energy Institute and the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

On March 13 at 9:00 a.m., the conference will feature a special conversation with noted researcher and speaker Reid Ewing of the University of Utah. Prof. Ewing’s latest books, Measuring Urban Design (Island Press) and Pedestrian & Transit-Oriented Design (ULI), bring the message of urbanism down to the street level, pinpointing the precise design elements that make an area appealing and providing an analysis of zoning practices necessary for creating successful places. Prof. Ewing will discuss his findings and sign his latest books.
