Call for Sessions Now Open for GPA Fall Conference

The latest from the Georgia Planning Association

It’s time again for us to start thinking about the Georgia Planning Association (GPA) Fall Conference. We all had a great time in Atlanta at the National Planning Conference, and we hope that you learned a lot to bring back to your communities in Georgia. But now is the time for you to share what you are doing in your own communities with the rest of the planners in Georgia. In October, we will be returning to one of our favorite cities for a conference: Athens, Georgia.

To get us moving in the right direction, please consider submitting a session or panel discussion proposal. Here are some ideas on requested topics to get you started:

  • Performance-Based Planning
  • Small Town/Rural Planning
  • Redevelopment
  • Regional Planning
  • Economic Development
  • Historic Preservation
  • Water Planning
  • Green Infrastructure (solar in particular)
  • Climate Change Action Plans
  • Green Ordinances

Visit to learn more and submit session and panel discussion proposals.

The call for sessions will be open through July 10, so please be sure to submit your proposals early! Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Corey Hull, VP of Programs, at
