Through its annual Developments of Excellence (DOE) Awards, ARC honors trend-setting private and public development projects that advance the goals and policies of ARC’s Regional Plan,PLAN 2040. Nominations are now open for the 2014 DOE Awards.

Past winners have been honored for creating developments that exemplify sustainability and exceptional design while leading in urban revitalization, transit accessibility, affordable housing, conservation, and sustainability.

In addition, ARC is accepting nominations for “Great Places.” This category allows nominations for places, streets, communities, neighborhoods, civic spaces or parks that contribute to the Atlanta region’s character and provide choices for where and how people work and live. Great Places are enjoyable, safe and desirable and can serve as regional models for future growth; the possibilities are open.

Finally, nominations are also open for the LCI Achievement Award, which honors a community that has excelled in the implementation of its Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) plan.

ARC wants to hear from you. What is your idea of a Development of Excellence, Great Place or exceptional LCI community that helps make the Atlanta region special? Nominate a deserving project or place by the close of business on Friday, August 15, and mark your calendars for ARC’s annual State of the Region Breakfast on Friday, November 7 to learn the winners.
